What your Mac is doing stays on your Mac.

What leaves your Mac

GaugeMon makes exactly two kinds of outbound network calls:

• License validation to Polar: sends your license key, an activation ID, and your Mac's computer name (so you can identify it in the customer portal) at most once per day.
• Update checks: about once a day, GaugeMon asks updates.uresk.net whether a newer version exists. The request says which version of GaugeMon you have and one word for its license state: in trial, licensed, trial ended, or license needs attention. We add that to a daily count per version and state — that count is all we keep. We don't store your IP address or anything else that could tell your Mac apart from anyone else's. Updates themselves still download from GitHub. You can turn off automatic update checks in Settings → General → License and updates → Check for updates automatically.

No tracking: no identifiers, no usage events, no crash reports, no account. GaugeMon never transmits your process list, command lines, gauge readings or anything else about what runs on your Mac. Copy Summary only writes to your clipboard; nothing is sent unless you paste it somewhere yourself.

This website

getgaugemon.com is a static site hosted on Cloudflare Pages. It uses Google Analytics to measure visitor counts and referral sources; the app itself does not. Purchases are processed by Polar, whose privacy policy governs checkout.

What stays on your Mac

Your trial start timestamp, license key and activation state are stored in your macOS Keychain (com.suresk.gaugemon.license). Your menu bar layout and other settings are stored in UserDefaults. All sampling happens on your Mac.
